20 Nov 2009

icould.com is a free online resource, allowing users to view real stories from people of all ages and all walks of life. The site has a comprehensive archive of over 1,000 stories across a broad UK work spectrum, and aims to give people of all ages ideas, direction, inspiration and hope for their future.

Celebrities (such as TV presenter, Davina McCall and Fun Loving Criminals musician, Huey Morgan), senior business people (WPP CEO, Sir Martin Sorrell and Sir Richard Branson) and professional sports athletes (such as Olympic sprinter, Jeanette Kwayke) have all taken part in this national initiative and films of their career stories will be available online.

WPP CEO, Sir Martin Sorrell, said: "I believe the future of the UK depends upon the skill set of our workforce. If icould.com can inspire our young people, especially in the current economic climate, it will be a good thing for the country as a whole."

Samuel Lucas, aged 16, from Coventry said: "I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do in the future and am not sure where or who I can go to for guidance. There's so much competition to find work, I find the whole prospect of finding a job terrifying.  icould.com sounds like a great idea - I love the fact that all you have to do is log on to get direct access to real people's experiences in the workplace."

icould has worked with hundreds of employees across a broad UK work spectrum, to showcase their individual stories, through short films told by real people in real jobs.
