Membership

Former members:

CRAC has taken the decision to suspend its formal (paid) membership scheme. The continued evolution of the careers/IAG landscape in relation to young people, HE students and graduates, and other adults, means that some of the services CRAC traditionally provided are no longer needed. In fulfilling our remit as a charity, CRAC’s strategic focus has for some time been on innovation and the development and intelligence (including research) in careers, education and employment. However, the provision of a paid membership offer in return for a ‘package’ of benefits is now less fitting. In practical terms, what this means for you,  as a former CRAC member, is that we will not be issuing you an invoice for continuation of membership beyond June 2011, nor will your organisation’s name appear in any published list of CRAC members.

We believe, however, that there remains great value to CRAC in our ability to sustain a network of interested employers as well as careers and other education professionals. We will continue to provide intelligence and insight that is of value to that network and, in this way, we would like to continue to engage with you and your organisation as part of our network. Equally, of course, we will continue to consider specific requests for support, expertise or development work, which at times may be on a commercial basis. Of course, being a charity without core funding from Government or any other source, CRAC will also always welcome any offers of general financial support to support our continued mission.

We plan to issue information to you from time to time about our activities and issues we think are of interest in your sector. For example, when we undertake research and development projects, for Government and its agencies, as in the last few years, we hope that we might call on you again to assist where relevant (e.g. employers, where there is a clear employer focus). At the moment, we are working on a number of projects relating to work experience and internships, and also in the postgraduate arena on the employability of doctoral researchers (where we are setting up specific work streams and an Advisory Group). Should you wish to engage in such projects please let us know. We would also like to make you aware of our conferences such as ‘Decisions at 18’ and other opportunities for participation.  In order to make that process efficient, we would appreciate being kept informed of key changes to contact details for yourself and/or your organisation. Of course, if you would prefer not to be contacted, we would remove your personal details from our database on request. (please email with any changes to contact details)

For now it remains for us to thank you for your support in previous years; working with the support of members CRAC has achieved much and there are continued challenges ahead for the careers sector, in which CRAC continues to seek to play a significant role.
