Stella has been a Careers Adviser for 35 years, working for the careers service for 19 years, transferring to her present post 16 years ago. She spends 90% of her time seeing students on a one-to-one basis, carrying out over 1000 interviews each year. She has contributed to CRAC conferences over the last 9 years, covering a wide range of topics. Stella is particularly interested in sharing good ideas and strategies to enable young people to fulfil their potential and progress successfully through the most appropriate pathway. Originally from Devon, Stella studied Social Sciences at Durham University progressing to Newcastle Polytechnic for the Diploma in Careers Guidance. She has spent all her working life in the North East and in her spare time enjoys cooking, foreign travel, watching football and going to the cinema.
