Biography

Andy Gardner is the university and careers adviser for JFS School, Brent, and La Sainte Union Catholic School, Camden.

Andy is the Moderator of the Institute of Career Guidance HE Advisers' Community and has helped to develop, and lectures on the unique Advisers Certificate: Applying to HE at LSBU.

Publications include:

• Co-author of the University Interviews Guide published in March 2009
• The major contributor to Informed Choices a joint publication by the Russell Group and the Institute of Career Guidance on Post 16 Choices
•  Author of the Higher-Education Advisers' Handbook:  Practical Steps for One-to-One Guidance, published in March 2006
• Major contributor to the Admissions to Higher Education:  Advisers' Directory, published by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust in September 2009
• HERL (Higher Education Related Learning) Co-authored with the SSAT

Andy has been an independent university and careers adviser for twelve years. Before this he was with the careers services in Camden (where he was a Schools Team Leader) and Newham for thirteen years. Over his career he has worked in twenty-six different secondary schools.  He is also on the admissions panel for Royal Free and UCL Medical School
