Biography

Leslie joined SPA in January 2007 from the University of Bath where he was responsible for undergraduate admissions, student recruitment and widening participation and before that led Bath's International Office.   He has been a member of the National Committee of the Higher Education Liaison Officers Association (HELOA), the HE Advisory Team for the Welsh Baccalaureate; the UK HE Committee for the Council of International Schools and a range of other national and regional groups.

Key areas of work that Leslie has been involved with since joining SPA include visits to and contacts with higher education institutions, links with a range of governmental and non-governmental organisations across the UK's different countries, links with schools and HE advisers, work on data and statistics and the organisation of the SPA conference.  He was responsible for SPA's statement of good practice in connection with applicants with Criminal Convictions and areas he is currently working on include admissions policies and part-time admissions.

Before starting at Bath University Leslie worked in international banking for 10 years, living in Cyprus, Bahrain, Hong Kong and London.
