Cheryl has worked as a Senior Lecturer and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, London Metropolitan University and Middlesex University. Before working in HE she worked in IT and with community groups, including refugees and asylum seekers. Through these partnerships Cheryl runs information and advice sessions as well as taster sessions so that attendees can make informed decisions about whether higher education is the right path for them. Cheryl further supports the students she meets through this outreach work by organising additional study skills sessions to help students to develop their study skills, including essay construction and academic writing. Cheryl has carried out research for two Lifelong Learning Networks into pre-entry IAG for students entering Higher Education.
