Biography

Ross Renton is a Head of Department at the University of Hertfordshire with responsibility for UK recruitment, access and widening participation initiatives. He represents the university at a national level on these issues and has been an expert advisor to the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT). He is a member of the UCAS/DCSF Curriculum Development Group and has been part of a sub group looking at group awards.

He also has previous experience in both the commercial and charity sectors as Director of Endsleigh Insurance Services Ltd, Director of Student Volunteering Scotland, Chair/Director of NUS Services Ltd as well as holding senior posts within the National Union of Students (NUS).

Ross is currently researching education policy and has delivered papers on this work in the past year to The European Higher Education Society (EAIR) and the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE). He  is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts (RSA) and a member of the Institute of Fiscal Studies
