In his covering letter to the report on Science and Mathematics Education for the 21st Century, Sir Mark Walport stated that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) must be at the forefront of education if the UK is to address some of the more important challenges facing society. This workshop will explore the efforts of the DCSF Careers Awareness Action Programme to reignite interest in STEM courses and careers working alongside a wide range of other partners. It will present case studies of good practice and offer a range of resources to support teachers and careers professionals in their work with young people, parents and carers and other professionals, including the SCORE Report Choosing the Right STEM Degree Course.
