Overview

Potential students should not be deterred from applying to higher education due to lack of knowledge about the financial support they would receive. The Student Loans Company is responsible for administering the student finance system in England. This includes the provision and promotion of student financial information, advice, guidance and supporting resources.

This session will explore the arrangements in place to help prospective students determine the financial support they may obtain from the government and from their university whilst in higher education.

• The student finance package 2010
• The application process and supporting materials
• Resources available for practitioners

Information, interaction and question and answer session. 

Outcomes

Delegates will gain a clearer understanding of the student finance system in England and resources available to support them when working with students making applications for financial support. They will be able to share views on all aspects of the financial information and advice service available from Student Finance England.
