Event overview

The NICEC Network meeting provided an opportunity to explore:

  • how are plans progressing to develop the adult advancement and careers service?
  • what are the challenges remaining? how will it achieve coherence with services for young people?

Discussion was facilitated by inputs from:

  • Adam Micklethwaite (DBIS) - overview of AACS Development
  • Rod Chambers (Careers Advice Service) - operational considerations
  • Becci Newton (Institute of Employment Studies) & Rosie Gloster (Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion)- update on AACS prototypes

Venue information

The venue is located in Euston, central London and is easily accessible via public transport. It is situated a short distance from 3 main line terminals, Euston, Kings Cross and St. Pancras. Local Underground stations and bus routes provide easy access to all other London terminals and to Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and City airports. London based delegates can arrive within walking distance via the Northern, Victoria, Piccadilly, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines.

By foot from London train terminus:

Walking distance from King's Cross/St Pancras, Euston (please see map below)

By bus from other London train terminus: bus stops for all main line stations are located in Tavistock Square or Euston Station Square forecourt.

By car:

There is no car parking at Woburn House. The nearest parking is on metered parking in Tavistock Square. There are also parking meters in neighbouring streets but these require that the vehicle be moved every 2 hours. The nearest long-stay car park is NCP Russell Court on the corner of Woburn Place and Coram Street WC1. However, there are 2 disabled bays on the street adjacent to the building, which are non-reservable.

Entrance to Woburn House:

The main entrance to Woburn House is opposite the gardens at the north end of Tavistock Square.

Wheelchair access is via the main entrance.
