Aim: for students to have a better understanding of the skills, behaviours and values of successful leaders.
Objectives:

to explain what a team leader is

to explain the difference between a manager and a leader

to show the students, by learning through doing, the effect of a leader on the success of a team
- for participants to appreciate ‘leadership’ as a relationships between the leader and their team
- to help participants to understand and identify the different styles of leadership according to the balance of their focus of these three elements: task, team or individual
- to identify and understand strategies and behaviours for being an effective leader
- to provide the opportunity for participants to take a leadership role, follow the leadership process for a complete task and evaluate their effectiveness through the team’s success
- to highlight the importance of the characteristics of an effective leader in the world of work.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- understand the characteristics of successful leaders
- know the difference between a manager and a leader
