Programme Duration: 1 day Participants: Years 10 - 12
This programme meets WRL Framework Elements 1, 3, 6, 7 & 9

Aim: to promote and encourage an enterprising approach in the workplace.

Objectives

  • to develop specialist knowledge and skills used by entrepreneurs when planning and creating economic ventures including insight into economic and social circumstances, markets and demand; and the evaluation of risk and reward
  • to enhance communication, problem solving and team working skills
  • to undertake tasks and activities set in work context
  • to promote personal attributes including inventiveness and creativity, drive and perseverance, self confidence & self belief
  • to encourage young people to identify and make best use of their individual talents and ideas.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

  • have an enhanced understanding of every-day financial terminology including money, credit and investment
  • have a sense of the importance of managing personal finance
  • understand the production, management, financial and sales elements of an enterprise
  • develop financial skills including budgeting, financial planning and personal risk management.
