International Students
The UK welcomes over 300, 000 international students to its HEIs each year. However, competition from the US and Australia, the rapid development of HE in the Far East, the cost of a UK degree and visa difficulties are all potential pitfalls which could undermine the flow of international students into the UK. Increasingly, HEIs are seeking to provide added value to their degree course offerings in order to keep the UK an attractive option.
CRAC has developed a comprehensive programme which aims to give international students the best possible chance of leaving HE well-equipped for the workplace - an attractive offer for those students who study in the UK to make themselves more employable when they return home.
The Career Development Programme for International Students comprises twenty-one modules, delivered before and during their degree, which cover key competencies and hard skills including:

The programme can be tailored to specific groups of international students. CRAC also offers a 'train the trainer' programme in order to provide value for money and sustainability for participating HEIs.
We are working in partnership with the Northern Consortium UK (NCUK) to deliver the programme. NCUK supports international students on behalf of its component HEIs including Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester. Using our experience of working in China and with this cohort, CRAC has also developed a programme for Chinese graduate recruits working for western employers.
