SIS/Bright Futures
The individual Bright Futures societies, previously known as SIS, are supported by the Bright Futures National Team, a not for profit organisation, which works across the UK with students to both improve their employability and provide a network of potential employers to meet and engage with. The National Team also runs skills sessions and introduces more employer contacts to the Society each year.
As competition for graduate jobs increases, the need to stand out from the other candidates has become more important than ever. Bright Futures can help students to develop a portfolio of transferable skills, which prove invaluable whichever career they decide to embark upon. Students will also develop commercial and self awareness, meaning that when it comes to interviews and assessment centres, they will be able to articulate their experiences more easily.
Each local society is run by a committee of students who are responsible for organising a comprehensive programme of skills based workshops on campus.
The learning which takes place on campus is complemented by an extensive programme of national events organised by the Bright Futures National Team.
Becoming a member of a local Bright Futures society gives students an opportunity to:
-
develop important transferable skills
-
improve commercial and self awareness
-
enhance their CVs
-
interact with representatives from leading organisations.
The workshops held on campus are free to Bright Futures members - although students may have to pay a small fee to become a member of a local society.
The process for setting up a local society is very straightforward and you will receive extensive support from Bright Futures National Team.
