Job Title: Senior Manager: Provision and Practice, Vitae (maternity cover)
Job Purpose: To develop, own, and deliver the strategy and operational plan for the Provision and Practice team. To oversee Vitae's activities to support researchers; develop and provide learning resources; manage trainer and developer networks; and lead innovation activities.
Salary: £30-40k

1 Main Responsibilities
- Work with CRAC's Director of Researcher Development, and the Senior Manager: Networks, to establish, develop, manage and deliver a programme of activities to support researchers and those staff supporting them (including GRADschools and courses programme, events for researchers, activities to support Research Council researchers, resources, trainers and developers network and activities, communities of practice and innovation. Activities include working with research managers and non-HE employers).
- Actively build strong and effective relationships with all Vitae stakeholder groups, partners and networks. Gather views in order to understand the issues around supporting researchers and implementing practice based activities and promote collaborative and complementary working.

Act as the lead expert on approaches to experiential learning and other personal development tools, techniques and theories, while maintaining a thorough understanding of policy relating to the development of researchers, understanding the implications for Provision and Practice activities.

Create, develop validate and deliver new ideas for projects and work-streams which will support researchers themselves in managing their skills and career development, and will add value to the network of staff and colleagues working directly with researchers in institutions and other organisations.

Undertake an agreed portfolio of projects within the overall programme strategy and activity plan and commission and manage sub-contractors of services for remaining projects.

Keep people informed and share knowledge with others working at CRAC and Vitae (including regional Hubs) and identifying wider business opportunities.

Have overall accountability for Vitae's Provision and Practice activities and budget ensuring that projects and work plans are delivered on time, to budget and to the required standard.

Line manage the Provision and Practice team.

Take responsibility for your own self-development and demonstrate a commitment to supporting the development of others. Develop and reinforce a knowledge and learning culture both internally and to external stakeholders.
