New CRAC Trustees announced

The Careers Research and Advisory Centre (CRAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of the following three new members to the Board of Trustees:

Jan Juillerat
Independent HR and organisational development consultant and executive coach.

Jan brings substantial trustee experience from both small and national charities. She also has a research council background, having worked for (former) Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), now part of UKRI, where she led change and transitions in organisational development and corporate governance.

Professor David Oswell
Professor of Sociology & Pro-Warden for Research and Enterprise at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Professor Oswell has had substantial committee and board experience in his role at Goldsmiths and beyond. He led his institutions’ philanthropy task force and has also had institutional responsibility regarding early career researchers.

Professor Roger Eccleston

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at Sheffield Hallam University.
Professor Eccleston leads the development and delivery of the overall academic strategy at Sheffield Hallam University and has a keen interest in the development of staff and ensuring they are supported in achieving their career goals. He has extensive experience of working at board level in charities and business.

In response to the new appointments, Drs. Astrid Wissenburg, Chair of CRAC Board of Trustees and Director of Research at the University of Exeter, commented:

“On behalf of the CRAC Trustees, I am delighted to welcome Jan, David and Roger to the Board. They will bring new perspectives to the team from across our sector. Our combined experience puts us in a robust position going forward and in helping deliver the CRAC strategy on behalf of the community”.

The new appointments will help enhance diversity of thought and will build on professional experiences within the research environment such as HE leadership roles, funder organisations, expertise in human resources and in talent management.

The new positions took effect from 16 March 2020.
