Board member
Charlie McNichol-Fardon is Head of Sustainability at the UK Hydrographic Office, where she leads work to embed sustainability, resilience and long-term thinking into organisational strategy, governance and decision-making.
Her career sits at the intersection of strategy, sustainability and organisational transformation. Drawing on experience across both the private and public sectors, she has advised organisations on complex strategic challenges and led programmes that strengthen organisational resilience, improve governance and support long-term decision-making. She holds an MBA and MSc in Global Sustainability Solutions from the University of Exeter.
A recurring theme throughout her career has been the application of systems thinking to complex challenges. Her expertise lies in understanding the relationships between environmental, social, technological and economic systems, and how positive cascading outcomes can emerge when interventions address root causes rather than symptoms.
